MBCRC recently joined forces with Consulting and Implementation Services (CIS) to offer our partner SMEs a ‘Pitching for Investment Bootcamp’, held over two half-days in Melbourne.

Our mutual focus is on building the Australian Marine Bioproducts industry by equipping start-ups with everything they need to form strong partnerships and attract investment.

Led by CIS’ Senior Consultant Dr Darren Cundy, participants learned the pluses and minuses of the various sources of capital available for early-stage businesses, and the fundamentals of developing a pitch deck for investment funding.

On day two our entrepreneurs built their own pitch decks and presented their investment opportunities. There were some exciting projects that CIS hopes to continue to work with, to help founders realise their potential.

Participants found the bootcamp very worthwhile:

”A great introductory workshop that provided many insights and reflections on creating a pitch that gets noticed. Looking forward to working with the CIS team to further develop opportunities for BBT.”
Karl Lawton, Founder, R&D Managing Director at Byron Bioreactor Technologies

“Thanks CIS for providing an insight into how startups are viewed by the various financing options! I’ve already put your advice to work.
Chris Moore, FARSTE Founder
