Leah Talbot is an Indigenous researcher and leader in land and sea management with extensive experience in Indigenous knowledge systems, environmental stewardship, governance and research. An Eastern Kuku Yalanji woman from Far North Queensland, she is Research Manager at the Northern Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance (NAILSMA).
Leah has previously held research roles with CSIRO and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and has a PhD focused on Indigenous governance in protected area management. She brings deep expertise in Indigenous-led research, natural resource management, collaborative governance and the integration of Indigenous and Western knowledge systems to the Marine Bioproducts CRC Board.
